How many languages is too many for a toddler? I worry that my child will get confused.

Great question! Research shows that young children are incredibly capable of learning multiple languages at once. While there may be moments of mixing languages (code-switching), this is a normal and healthy part of multilingual development. The key is consistency and making sure each language comes from meaningful human interaction—not just screen time. Our parents club will be a great resource for you!

My 3-year-old seems shy and doesn’t talk much with other kids. Should I be concerned?

Every child has their own social and language timeline. If your child is engaging with you and showing interest in others (even quietly), that’s a good sign. Encourage small group play, model social language, and give it time. If concerns continue, we can help suggest ways to build social confidence or recommend further evaluation if needed.

How can I support my child’s early math skills at home?

Math in early childhood is about more than numbers! Sorting toys by color, comparing sizes, counting steps, or talking about shapes during play are all great ways to build foundational math skills. Look for ways to use math language in everyday routines—"more," "less," "bigger," "smaller," and so on.

What’s the right way to set boundaries without yelling?

Positive guidance starts with clear, consistent expectations and calm follow-through. Instead of yelling, use simple phrases, redirect, and offer choices within limits. For example: “You can put the toy away now or I will help you do it.” We’ll cover more behavior strategies like this in upcoming sessions.

My child is learning English at school, but we speak another language at home. Will that slow down their English?

Actually, keeping your home language strong will help your child learn English faster and with better cognitive flexibility! Keep speaking your home language at home—it builds emotional connection and a strong language foundation. Let us know if you want tips on how to balance both languages.

Is it okay for my 4-year-old to still need naps some days?

Absolutely. Sleep needs vary from child to child. Some 4-year-olds still benefit from naps, while others shift to quiet rest time. What matters most is that your child is getting enough total sleep in 24 hours (usually 10-13 hours for preschoolers). Follow your child’s cues.
